What comes to mind when you think of the word PASSION?
-
An extreme emotion?
-
Absolute devotion to someone/something?
- An incredibly strong and extravagant love?
These are the typical definitions of the word. There is one missing definition from the above list that pulls all of these into focus.
The last week of Jesus' human life on earth has come to be known as "The Passion" week. This period of time begins with His entrance into Jerusalem and ends with His death on the cross. This term is used to describe the depth of Christ's great sacrifice on the cross and the eternal love He has for humanity. This is why Christ endured the torture, shame, and punishment that happened that week.
The story of all that Christ went through during the last week of His life defies all that makes sense to the human mind. From His arrest, trials, beatings, crucifixion, shame, and death - why did He willfully go through such unbearable hardship? There is only one reason...
...His love for all humanity was infinitely greater than the excruciating pain He experienced.
Because of this, our love and devotion is called to be just as passionate towards God. This is the basis for why we want to invite you to the upcoming Passion Rock Opera. Read on to learn more...
